The first ride of a 3 part Grand Tour of the Giant of the Provence that takes you up two sides of the climb on a early spring day with the trees in full blossom.
This Part Starts in Malaucene on the northern side of the climb but takes the southerly road round the foot of the climb over a smaller warm up climb called the Madeleine.
Once you reach the Village of Bedoin you start the 21km long trek up the side most used in the Tour de France which is on the bucket list of many riders.
The last 6km of the climb feature the well known moonscape & deep snow drifts covering the Tommy Simpson Memorial.
Continue the Ventoux 2014 Grand Tour with Part 2 T2055.60 which is a very easy ride via scenic roads along the Gorges de Nesque. Then to Part 3 T2055.61 in the village of Sault to tackle the Ventoux from the easier but longer SE side.
