To Madonna del Ghisallo in ‘the race of the falling leaves’
‘La classica delle foglie morte’ (‘the race of the falling leaves’) is a true cycling monument in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy. This 2013 edition of the Tour of Lombardy film features a 77 km long ride out from the lake side town of Como to visit the Patron Saint of Cycling in the church of Madonna del Ghisallo with the Wiggle-Honda women’s pro cycling team. The route is an out & back one with much of it on roads that feature annually in the Tour of Lombardy cycling classic including the steep climb of the Ghisallo.
